Lady
Margaret Hall places a high priority on the health and welfare
of its students. The College has an arrangement with a medical
practice in Oxford, from which two doctors, one male and one
female, hold surgeries in LMH.
The College nurse is in College every weekday in term for consultation.
LMH students, like all students at Oxford, are free to consult,
in confidence, the University Counselling Service. Through the
Link Counsellor Scheme, LMH has regular contact with a specific
Counsellor at OUCS who acts as counselling adviser to all members
of the College.
Each student has a personal tutor, and in addition there is
a panel of six tutors, each available for consultation by students
on any matter. The Principal and the Chaplain are also readily
available to students wishing to discuss difficulties.
Health and Welfare provision is monitored by a Welfare Committee,
on which there is substantial representation of undergraduates,
graduates, and tutors, as well as the College doctor, nurse,
counselling adviser, and Chaplain.
The College's Welfare Committee advises Governing Body on welfare
matters, and organises a week-long Induction Programme for new
students held every October immediately before the beginning
of term.
