Scholarships & Finance

All graduate students will be required to produce documentary evidence of their ability to meet the full cost of the course they wish to undertake, before they begin their studies.

Graduate Scholarships
The college currently offers two Graduate scholarships each year, namely the Jex-Blake Graduate Scholarship and the Warr-Goodman Graduate Scholarship. Only current students of LMH are eligible to apply.

There will be a number of additional graduate awards available from academic year 08/09.

The LMH Studentship for Canadian Studies
An award of £4000 will be made to a UK citizen or Canadian permanently resident in the UK (Home status for funding purposes). The Masters or DPhil must have a substantial Canadian content. The award will be renewable annually to the end of fee liability (subject to satisfactory academic progress).

Division Awards
Four new graduate awards (one in each Academic Division) of £2000 will be made. These awards will be renewable with evidence of satisfactory academic progress during the period that the student is liable to pay fees.

An entrance Scholarship of £2000 will also be awarded to the the best candidate in each Academic Division. They will be held in the first instance for one year only and so will also be appropriate for those following a Master's course. There is a possibility that these may be renewed if the student remains at LMH for a further research degree.

Other awards
Up to four more one-year entrance awards will also be available in 08/09.

Candidates must have accepted a place at LMH for an award to be made and they must confirm acceptance of their place and the award by the end of July. All Scholarships will come with guaranteed accommodation, which will be charged to the student at the prevailing rates.

Only one College Award may be held by any one student.

Further information will be available from the Tutor for Graduates, Dr Allan Doig. More details on fees and sources of funding are to be found on the Oxford University Graduate Studies web page.
